vertical ray of sunshine
This is such a beautiful film, the interiors are fabulous, the clothes are great, I now want to live in Hanoi where they have nothing but antique furniture and colour-washed plaster walls in lovely shades of blue and green, loads of gorgeous flowers, old pots, art etc, and gorgeous windows with no glass inside them so the weather can come in and out and you feel really in touch with nature. There are beautiful balconies outside all the windows, with lovely flowing plants dangling everywhere. Also they have great beds, sort of raised futons made of antique mahogany, very plain and elegant. Plus they listen to Lou Reed as well as singing charming folk songs in a spontaneous fashion, and, of course, they are all spectacularly beautiful as well (even some of the men). Even the golden Chinese palace did not make me so jealous.
The actual film is really good too. Liked this one a lot.
