go Longhorns!
Well that was exciting! I never usually watch football, but somehow we noticed there was a big match on and decided to check out the last part of it, although it wasn’t till about ten minutes after the end that we realised our local Texas team had won A Whole Entire Big American championship, for the first time in thirty five years. Although it was a serious cliff-biter, so if the Longhorns had lost instead I would have been swearing never to see another football again.
Afterwards we went outside and could hear whoops and shouts and (illegal- it hasn’t rained here for about a hundred years, and there’s a ban on) fireworks from all sides of the distance. Rashly promised to buy Daughter an orange t-shirt for amusing conversations at school back in England. Who do you support? Liverpool, Manchester United? The Texas Longwhats?!.
Got a lecture over breakfast about how Jesus was brought to Mother Mary by an Angel. Hopefully Littlest One is young enough to forget all all about that by next December.
Daughter: Yeah, they’re always teaching Christianism in that class.
Anyway, I haven’t given up blogging. Things have been busy, but also I need to take some new directions both here and generally, in 2006. More later.
